Half-term Round Up

What a great final week to a fabulous half-term. I've know I've been repeating myself each week and have said it many times in Friday worships, but I have been so impressed with how all our pupils have settled into classes and their work since the start of the year. Even this week; the eighth week of a long half-term, focus has been good, effort has been of a high level and the hard work has paid off, with some fabulous final pieces of work in books.

Thanks to all parents who made an appointment to see the teachers at parents' evening. If you didn't get a chance to talk to you child's teacher, please consider touching base with them next half term, as having your support is very important to the success of your child's learning.

We finished the half-term, wringing every last bit of energy out of the children, with a fabulous OSFA disco yesterday evening and then an amazing choir performance in worship today.

Everyone deserves a well earned rest over the half-term break. I find myself however already excited for the start of next half-term and what we can achieve together.

Overton & District Horticultural Society Autumn Show

This evening, we are excited to be taking some entries down to the horticultural show, taking place at Overton Memorial Hall. We have chosen some examples of handwriting and some art work to show - we will also be taking down some veggies grown in our polytunnel.

If we have chosen your child's work, you will receive a text message this afternoon to let you know. If you want to head down to the show to see the results, or check whether we have any winning veggies, the show opens for public viewing at 2pm tomorrow (Saturday). I'll be there to see how we have got on!

St John's Hospice October Half-Term Challenge

St John's Hospice need our children's help. They have set down an October half-term challenge to all school pupils in our area, to raise just £24 over their Autumn break. If you have any good ideas and feel this might be both a fun and extremely worthwhile thing to do, then follow the QR code to register your interest. St John's Hospice is such a precious resource in our community and they absolutely deserve our effort and support.

Many thanks in advance.

Morecambe Bay Silver!

We absolutely found treasure in Morecambe Bay this week. To be exact, the silver coin collection that made up the coastline of Morecambe Bay, as part of our Morecambe Bay Day celebrations on Wednesday, raised a total of £116.40. Thank you so much to all who sent a small bit of change our way.

Stars of the Week

Well done to Logan in Holly Class, Polly in Elm, Nate in Willow Class, Anderson in Beech and Joseph in Oak, who are the Stars of the Week, for maintaining a brilliant attitude and effort over the whole half-term. Well done!

Congratulations also go to those pupils who were awarded Values Awards for Thankfulness. Well done to Brooke from Oak Class, Lily-Rae from Beech Class, Layla from Willow Class, Harley from Elm Class, and Maverick from Holly Class. Emma L gained Miss Hall's Values Award and Martha H gained my award. Well done all.
