Overton St Helen's Primary School family news: Issue 31
Weekly Round Up
This week, we have seen two fantastic examples of both courage and responsibility, in the way pupils have stepped up to auditions for the talent show and have completed the Young Play Leader training.
On Wednesday afternoon, there were plenty lights shining as the children bravely stepped forward to show us their talents. Mrs Ingham and Mrs Harding have had the tricky job of choosing those who have made it through to the talent show itself, but really well done to all for having a go.
A group of Y5s have also worked really hard with Mr Wilcock from the School Sports Network team this week, to complete their Young Play Leader training, designing their own playground games. Next year they will use the brilliant leadership skills they have learnt, working with our younger year groups during playtimes. It will be a valuable service to our school and a fab responsibility to take on.
Overton Talent Show
Letters are coming home this afternoon, for those pupils who have made it through the auditions to the final talent show taking place on Wednesday. This will give many details such as times to arrive and how to acquire tickets for the event.
The school choir have also been invited to sing two pieces at the talent show - letters specifically for choir members will be sent home today with all the details too.
Make sure the date is in your diaries, Wednesday 9th July, as it promises to be a very special night!
OSFA Colour Dash
It's great to see many places being booked for OSFA's end of year Colour Dash, taking place on Friday 11th July. Please keep the booking slips coming in so that OSFA are aware of numbers.
You will also have noticed that the teachers are up for a gunging, if enough money is pledged! It will either be the headteacher, the head and deputy head teacher or the whole lot! So, if you would like to see all the teachers get gunged, give OSFA your 'gunge gold' at the Colour Dash!
OSFA will be holding another 'Rainbow Raffle' on the day - they will be indicating which class is collecting prizes for which colour, next week. Finally, we will be declaring Friday 11th June, a 'non-uniform' day!
