Overton St Helen's Primary School family news: Issue 26(25/26)
Weekly Round Up
The sunshine always brings joy to school, especially to Overton - this week, we've enjoyed taking full advantage of our school field during PE lessons and breaktimes. The wellbeing it also gives us is endless, so please forgive the green-tinted knees that will have no doubt come home this week!
Almost all clubs started up again this week which was great to see. It's always great to see the school as busy as it can be. We are raring to go with gardening club at the end of the day today, maximising the resource that is our amazing polytunnel. I think next week, we may have some produce already ready to be harvested. Look out for pop up texts giving you the option to pick up some home-grown veggies or salad items over this next term. Monday's Choir will finally begin next week - thanks for your patience where this was concerned.
Next week begins with the school photographer in on Monday - more about that below.
School Photographs
Next Monday morning, Tempest Photography will be in school to take school photos. These will include individual photos, family groups and class photos for our Year 6 and Reception cohort.
The photographer will be in school, ready to take photos from 8.15am for any families who have children not attending Overton St Helen's but who want to be included in the family group. Please come along as early as you can to get this done.
Photographs will then be available online to view and order as required.
Magnetic Ball Bearings
We have an influx of small magnetic ball bearings coming in to school from home. I think they are purchased as a type of fidget toy.
It is important that these are left at home and do not come in to school. If swallowed they could be extremely dangerous and whilst I appreciate many of our older pupils would know better not to do this, if found, some of our younger pupils may not.
If they are brought into school from Monday, they will be confiscated until the end of the day.
Many thanks for your support.
Polite Request
We seem to have a growing number of pupils who are nipping back to school after the end of the day and after playing on the park for a while, to use the school toilets before they go home.
Could I politely ask parents to avoid this if possible. Our staff are often in meetings, finishing their working day, or the toilets are already being cleaned ready for the next day in school.
Thank you.
Star of the Week
A huge well done to Grace in Maple Class, Harmonie in Holly Class, Holly B in Elm, George in Willow Class, Orlaith in Beech Class and Archie in Oak who are our Stars of the Week for showing commitment and perseverance in their work, for putting in a great effort and applying the things they have learnt to their learning.
Well done all - keep it up!
