Overton St Helen's Primary School family news: Issue 22

Weekly Round Up

I think the highlight of this week in school has to be the Lancaster and Morecambe Big Sing festivals. On Monday evening, Elm Class took part with many other schools in the Key Stage One concert, singing proudly and confidently on stage. Then on Thursday evening, it was our school choir's turn to show what they could do, joining Key Stage Two pupils from other schools for their performance. The songs were fab and sounded amazing when sung by over 200 pupils each time. It was lovely to see so many parents coming to watch - I hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did!

Today, Maple Class and the last group from Holly Class have been out on an adventure up Warton Crag and have had a great time. Our Outdoor and Adventure Days are always a brilliant experience in building resilience and overcoming challenges. Next term it will be the turn of Elm Class, off out on a different adventure - more details to follow shortly.

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope all our mums, grandmas, aunties and lovely ladies who look after us all at home, have a lovely day this Sunday and get thoroughly spoilt by those who love you. From school, a special thank you for supporting your children in their learning, for organising uniform, kit and costumes, for your comfort when they're sad or poorly, for knowing where to get them to and when and for cheering your children on in everything they do. Thank you!

OSFA's 'Yes' Day!

Next Friday, OSFA are organising a 'yes' day in school when children can pay for the privilege of doing something different than the norm. This may involve putting their hair in a creative style or wearing non-uniform; there is a long list of suggestions on the back of the leaflet, to give you some more ideas. Don't forget - this is a small fundraiser, so it's 50p for every 'yes' you choose.
