WEEKLY ROUND UP

It’s two weeks since the last newsletter and lots of hard work has taken place since my last round-up. Thank you so much for all the generous harvest donations at last Friday’s Harvest festival —the Foodbank were as always, very thankful for our efforts. Equally so were Macmillan, when we raised over £184 at our coffee event in the afternoon—it was great to see you all. Next week we look forward to the Curious Investigators team visiting school to inspire our KS1 pupils in all things Science, including workshops throughout the day for both Holly and Elm Class. We also have a change of date for the Flu Immunisations which will now happen on Wednesday 9th, not Tuesday 8th Oct as originally planned.

CHRISTMAS FAIR MEETING

Don’t forget next Friday's small meeting to discuss planning arrangements for the Christmas Fair. This is a really critical meeting where we need some willing people to join, other-wise the Christmas Fair will not be able to go ahead as usual. It starts at 1.45pm—please come.

PE KIT

A request that all pupils follow our PE Kit rules when com-ing to school on PE days. This should be dark leggings, shorts or tracksuit bottoms, PE t-shirt (house colours) and school jumpers. No football kits please. Earrings should be removed - if this is not possible, very small studs please that can be easily covered with tape. Thank you.

MORECAMBE BAY DAY!

Wednesday 16th October is a very special day for Morecambe Bay - it is officially 250 years old. On 16th October, 1774 the words ‘Morecambe Bay’ first appeared on a map and our school council have proposed we celebrate the event with a day of Art, inspired by our beautiful Bay. At the same time, they would like to raise £250 collectively for charities around the Bay, including Morecambe Bay Partnership and More-cambe Bay Search and rescue. More details of how to show support will be in next week’s newsletter.

MENTAL HEALTH TEAM COFFEE MORNING

On Thursday 17th October, we will be hosting a coffee morning (free cuppa and cake) when our Mental Health Team will be on hand to introduce themselves and chat to anyone regarding children’s mental health. We have a programme of workshops planned over the school year, but this first is to allow you to meet the team and talk to practitioners if needed. Everyone is welcome.
